About the TikTok Profile Picture Downloader

TikTok shows an avatar as a circle about the size of a thumbnail, and there is no tap-to-enlarge. Screenshotting gives you exactly what was on screen: a small, soft, already-cropped circle. The full picture does exist though — TikTok stores a square original, usually 1080 by 1080 — and this tool pulls that file. Paste a link to any public video from the account and you get their profile picture at full resolution, square and uncropped, the way it was uploaded.

Why do I need a video link instead of just the @username?

The source we read returns a profile picture as part of a post's data — there's no lookup that takes a bare handle. Any public video from that account works, including one you found through search. It's one extra tap and it keeps the tool honest about what it can actually reach.

What if the account has no videos?

Then there's no post to read the avatar from, and this tool can't help. That's a genuine limit, not a bug.

Does the person find out I downloaded their picture?

No. There's no view, no notification, and nothing is sent to their account. You're fetching a file that TikTok already serves publicly.

Can I use someone's profile picture as my own?

Please don't. Downloading a public image is fine for keeping a copy or making a reference; passing off someone's face or artwork as your identity is impersonation and gets accounts banned. Use it for reference, not for pretending.

Why is the picture smaller than 1080x1080 sometimes?

Some accounts uploaded a smaller file in the first place. We always ask for the largest version stored, but we can't invent pixels that were never there.
